Stitches

Stitches is a chilling exploration of grotesque transformations and the unsettling nature of the human body. The story begins with a disturbing series of events, including a tumor that takes the shape of a man’s face as it moves across a woman’s body. Meanwhile, the sea shoots glowing balls into the sky, causing panic among beachgoers. One of the most terrifying elements is a girl whose face has been mysteriously erased, leaving her with nothing but a blank, featureless surface.

Junji Ito’s unsettling artistry and his ability to blend body horror with psychological terror create a deeply disturbing narrative in Stitches. Each tale in this collection amplifies the terror of the body’s fragility, offering a nightmarish vision of a world where the ordinary becomes horrifyingly alien.
